Recommendations for a plug and play GPS/RTK combo under $1000?

Hey all! I’m working on a large scale rover project using Cube Orange+ autopilot where reliable accuracy is paramount. We currently have the Here3+ GPS and RTK base station, but it’s been incredibly unreliable and mostly stays in float mode where the position can drift by a meter or more. It’s even worse when it occasionally gets GPS fixed and the position jumps by several meters during an operation.

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a good plug and play solution RTK base and GPS combination that is straight forward to integrate and known to be reliable.

Thanks in advance!

ArduSimple’s SimpleRTK2B is probably the most widely used. 2 of the same module can be used for a fixed base + onboard solution. Add a 3rd for moving baseline (GPS for yaw, if desired).

Do not buy the SimpleRTK2B+Heading kit for ArduPilot moving baseline configs. It can be made to work but is often troublesome. Stick with multiples of the basic SimpleRTK2B board.

They can be sourced from Mouser or ArduSimple directly.

The Holybro F9P works really well. The UBlox F9P chip is significantly better at getting and retaining a fixed solution than the M8P chip used in there Here3+. The rover and base units can be bought for under $1k. Have a read through the GPS roundup Tridge did here: Big GPS Round Up
