Considering calling up 3dr and asking them to send me a spektrum transmitter. What is the range when you only use the satellite receiver?

Perhaps wrong forum? But I was really wondering what the range is. The wiki pages says the range is limited. Wondering if anyone who has flown has an estimate of the range.
