Quadcopter, follow me


I’m an electronics engineering student who wants to get started with building my own quadcopters.

I have some arduino experience, but not much.

What i want to do is to build a quad that can follow me around, avoid obstacles, and also record, if everything goes to plan.

Anyone who could help me get started?

I just need to know if its possible, what software/hardware would be reasonable to use, etc.


Have you looked at the iris+? It is the only programmable quad I know of. I see this post is several months old so I imagine you have it already figured out.
