QGC crash after loading custom firmware of Copter 3.5 beta

I am using QGroundControl v3.1.2 on Linux, and I tried to upload Copter 3.5 beta to my 3DR Pixhawk MINI. I uploaded the firmware binary files from: http://firmware.us.ardupilot.org/Copter/beta/PX4/ and http://firmware.us.ardupilot.org/Copter/latest/, but the problem was, QGC crashed as soon as the firmware was uploaded to PixhawkMINI. Any idea how to resolve this issue?

That has to be talked with QGC developers. @DonLakeFlyer any ideas?

Finally back in town, I’ll give 3.5 a try today.

Fixed in Daily Builds. Looking at cherry pick back to Stable to prevent crash. That said, newer Daily Build is required for 3.5 anyway due to parameter changes.

Stable fix is here: https://github.com/mavlink/qgroundcontrol/pull/4539. But this is only stop-gap to get to the error that tells you that QGC may not work with this version of the firmware without crashing. You still need Daily to run 3.5.

Thanks Don. Any date prediction for the next stable build supporting 3.5?

Stable 3.2 is going to be a while, lot’s of stuff in the works for that. No date yet. Daily Builds tend to be just a hair less stable than Stable.
