Hello, I’m using prefetching map functions as I will bring my aircraft to ships for 2~3 months.

I wonder prefetched map is saved even if prefetch process is cancelled in middle.

in the dialouge box there is no instruction about this. I want detailed instruction here.

because this is very long operation than I think. I turned on the GCS laptop for all day along friday, saturday, sunday and it was not finished. so I couldn’t test GCS for other peripheral devices, joysticks, etc.

I was just worried about the cancelling the prefetching process, and wait for it is finished.

will it start from when it cancelled when I restart prefetching process? I wondered but there was no instructions.

additional question :

is there alternative way to prefetch maps than downloading on GCS laptop?

for example, can I prefetch maps in my private laptop and paste it to GCS?

How things will be going if prefetched map is already exists in GCS laptop? is it okay to paste to GCS laptop anyway? I’m worrying about things is messed up

a canceled prefetch will keep whatever it has already got
the location of the map cache is here
C:\ProgramData\Mission Planner\gmapcache

this folder can be copied between pc’s
you can copy over the top of an existing directory without issue.
