Powering Lidar mini from servo rail not uart?

Hi

I read that it is advised to power peripherals especially lidar not from the uart i. e serial 4/5 but from the servo rails of pixhawk. Is this true?

Depends on models as the peak startup current can exceed 3 Amps. As a rule of thumb we recommend using a dedicated UBEC

Thanks ppoirier. The max current for the new TFMINI PLUS is 500ma. Will this be fine?

Yes TFMINI is fine , YOu can power from the serial port if needed
