Hi! I’m develop drone which is controlled by raspberry pi 5. Question is, how to power raspberry and drone from single battery? I’m using matek h743 flight controller, but it have 5V2A bec (3A max) which I think is not enough to provide stable power for raspberry pi.
My idea is to buy xt60 Y splitter and one side is connected to drone, and another is to dc-dc step down converter, which will give 5V 5A to raspberry. Is that good idea? Or there can be more better solutions.
Thanks!
You can get 5.2V BEC which are more suitable to Raspberry Pi3B+ and up.

You can buy a dedicated power supply like the Pi-Connect Lite (https://www.robotshop.com/products/rpanion-pi-connect-lite-v2). It also has telemetry ports for connecting to the flight controller.

Thanks! I’m going to use matek 12s pro bec. I’ve got yesterday one more suggestion, solder wires to drone esc ( where drone power wires soldered) and then solder this wires to BEC input. Is somebody tried similar solution? ESC is speedy bee 4 in 1
