Do I need to have the PPM encoder to connect my Spektrum DX6i to the Pixhawk? I didn’t need one to connect to an APM 2.5. I have everything wired up just like I did with the APM 2.5 but I don’t get a RC signal to the Pixhawk.
Thanks,
Andy

So, should I just use the satellite receiver? If I don’t plug the satellite receiver into the Pixhawk, do I need to get the PPM encoder to make the full rc receiver work?
@aminor81,
If you want the simple solution, but with shorter range, plug the Spektrum Remote Receiver into the Spektrum Remote Receiver connector on the Pixhawk per the Wiki instructions.
If you want better reliability and farther range you will have to connect the Remote Receiver to your present Spektrum R/C receiver, if it uses one, and then use the R/C receiver to ppm encoder, per the Wiki instructions, to connect your R/C receiver to the Pixhawk R/C input. You cannot use a R/C receiver directly with the Pixhawk like you can with an APM.

Thanks. That answers my question. I figured I could connect the R/C receiver to the pixhawk the same as I did to APM.
