I have pixhawk mini on an f450 quadcopter frame, i`m trying to figure out if i need to solder a 5v wire from the PM to the brakeout board…

That depends on your ESCs. Usually they don’t rquire 5V input. You should also check if they have integrated BECs which you will have to disable, e.g. by removing the center pin of their JR connectors.
well, i found the datasheet, and it says that it had no BEC, but still, i`m not sure if i have to power it up with 5v or not…
Why don’t you just try it without 5V?
