Pixhawk locked up, wont boot, no tones with upgrade

My Pixhawk has been working working well, and has been flown successfully using 3.1.1rc1…

problem:
When downloading 3.1.1rc2 FW the pixhawk in MP 1.2.93, I saw the “erase” message, then went into the unplug-plug in sequence. Then got the error message “error: timed out”.
now I am not able to get musical tones, the switch light is constantly blinking red, B/E and Act leds are constantly blinking and the multicolored LED never comes on… I can’t get any response with usb nor onboard battery… I can’t connect just dead…

How do i get this fantastic controller working again?

With repeated attempts reloading 3.1 FW, I didn’t get the timeout error and got a successful load with the yellow blinks and musical tones again…

It sounds like the planner did not see the com port. Enable the console window in the Help screen.

Are you using MP in a virtual machine? Some times the com port is slow to be recognized.

Yes I am using windows as virtual machine in parallels… I will watch the console window next time…
