Pixhawk and Maxbotix I2C MB7040 WR

Hi to all,
I’ve installed a Maxbotix sonar MB7040 on my pixhawk based F550 to get a precise altitude holding outdoor.
Now I am testing it indoor, but it doesn’t seem very different from not having. I am using a shielded cable and followed instruction on maxbotix site, including the rc filtering, but the reading is not precise and quite noisy.
Has anybody suffered from the same problem?

thank you!

I think that has been the main problem with the maxbotix sonar is noise. I don’t think it was 100% resolved. LiDAR Lite seems a potentially better solution. That said using a a sonar device that has a transmit and receive sensors separate may work better. YMMV

I found some contacts on the DF13 plug broken. Now it seems to work better, but there is an offset of the distance reading of about -6 cm (84 cm instead of 90 if I put the quad on a table with the sonar facing the floor) . Is there any way to correct it?

thank you!
