Pixhawk 4 RPM output via UART

I am using Mission Planner V1.3.81 as my GCS. I am trying to output the Engine RPM over UART via the Telem1 port and use this as input to an Arduino Mega. I configured the SR1_Extra1 parameter to output this and rebooted the Pixhawk, but I am not receiving any output. What could be the issue?
