Pixhawk 2.4.8 - any better alternatives?

Currently using 2.4.8 for arduboat. works good - only issue is I have to recalibrate compass before every use which has become tedious.

Would Pixhawk 4 or 5X resolve any of these issues?
Will there be any advantage of upgrading?

That’s not typically required. Are you using an external compass and it’s set for Priority 1?

yes - using external & set to 1.

Then why are you re-calibrating? This is a one and done procedure unless hardware changes on the vehicle.
