Pitot Tube Location and Setup

I am getting terrible airspeed values and I am looking for recommendations to make the airspeed sensor usable. Large power glider, FMS Fox 3m. I mounted the pitot tube out on the wing about 50cm from the center of the fuselage to get it out of the prop wash. I ran long tubes from the pitot tube on the wing to the sensor inside the fuselage. Would it be better to run short tubes to the sensor, imbed the sensor in the wing and extend the wires to the FC in the fuselage?

I have a 2m FMS Fox. My pitot is located in the same relative position as yours. I located the sensor in the wing behind the pitot, and ran the cables to the fuse. I soldered an extension cable from the FC to facilitate connection when putting on the wing. So far my airspeed readings compare well with the GPS, but I have only done very little testing.
