Having built a 1.85kg quad and a 3.3 kg octo, I noticed that there is less throttle imbalance in octo among the motors, e.g. the motor throttles are closer than in quad. Is this generally true? Perhaps due to octo having finer-grained control?
Nope, that is not always true.
It depends on the arms being twisted or not, and the motors correctly mounted.
It just shows that your Octo is mechanically more precisely built than your quad.
thanks, though I forgot to stipulate that this is for forward flight. so in forward flight the center of pressure may move away from CG, and i was thinking maybe finer-grained control might help in this case.
