Octo Flip during takeoff

As Shawn says the current tech in ESC’s is much more efficient than the old stuff. I have yet to fail a BLHeli_32 ESC and have toasted several old school ones.

Thanks guys ill install them with additional esr capacitors and test.

OK so finally figured out , it wasn’t esc issue but compass / orientation somehow.
removed the matek m9n gps+ compass module and it was flying okay.
as per the ardupilot documentation it should learn the orientation automatically during calibration.
during px4 calibration it was showing that the compass orientation CW 270 and 90 flip.
after replacing it with rm3100 compass and large vehicle cal everything worked.
Thanks for all your support guys!

glad this post is here, (last build was flipping over, so I bought two more to build) two Octo Tarot X8 drones, one comes with same as yours 4114-320kv motors and those large 40A escs, I bought eight 5010-360kv motors with Readytosky 40A ESCs, for the other one ($200 for the set). Last build I tried was an X6 and it was flipping over.
This ardupilot (Retired FC) seems to be working so far. as far as communicating with MP, motor test, gotta find the landing gear settings again to lower the legs , then will test flight.
Then I have a few Orange Cubes for the next few builds.
