Yes, they improve efficiency, and safety.
No problems, except added weight AFAIK.

Depends on a lot of factors !!! What kind of question is that ?

Are those ducts metal? Added weight as suggested plus ducts loose efficiency as the pitch angle changes from normal to the duct axis so on a multirotor they don’t make a lot of sense. Unless it’s a hover machine going up and down…
