Hi
i was checking the MR72 wiki and it mentions “Since this is not a DroneCAN based sensor, you will not be able to use the connected port with any other sensor.” so does that include other MR72 connected on same bus?
My objective is to use two MR72 for object avoidance (front back ) and one downward for Pos Hold
all connected to same canbus , is it achievable ?
I don’t not know on which wiki you refering too.
But did you read also this:
https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-rangefinder-mr72.html
this is the same article im referring to (Second paragraph under “Connecting to the Autopilot”)
But the wiki gives you the very clear answer:
Setup the sensor through the NSM Software. In particular set the “ID” to a unique number if planning to use multiple MR72 on a single CAN bus. You can also set the bitrate from the software.
Note
ArduPilot does not currently support same CAN rangefinders connected to different CAN ports. If you would like yo use multiple CAN rangefinders together, connect them to the same bus.
Connecting to the Autopilot¶
Setup the sensor through the NSM toolprovided by the manufacturer. More details can be found here. Set the “ID” to a unique number if planning to use multiple MR72 on a single CAN bus. You can also set the bitrate from the software to match the CAN bus bitrate (500000 is recommended).
Hi, Sorry if my documentation on this matter wasn’t clear.
Yes, you can connect 3 MR72’s to the same CAN bus. Please note, you cannot yet use MR72 as an altitude source. You can use an NRA24 from the same company. If you do get a NRA24, you can connect all 3 sensors to the same CAN bus.
Thank you @rishabsingh3003 , much appreciated.
