What I did was:
1). Connect big battery at 10.9V, start MP, connect, wait for some messages (all “October 19xx”), disconnect, close MP.
2). Connect small battery at 10.5V, start MP, connect, wait for some messages (all correct) and the battery going down to 9V, disconnect, close MP.

It can depend on Windows language. I tried on another laptop with Windows 7 (only Anna english voice) which had MP UI in english:

However, observe two voices:
-MP one at constant speed.
-Speaker one, initially at top speed (9), which essentially says the contents of the focused window, which alternates between MP hud and other very simple window. Note focus change on the color of the hud title bar.

When the battery goes below 11V (12’50") speaker speed is changed to 5 and is intelligible.

With some workaround for Helena, and the {sysid} adition (distinguish with SYSID_THISMAV the speeches with multiple drones), MP would become a masterpiece.

As a bad workaround (as bad as the comma), some punctuation characters alter the behaviour of the TTS for good.

For example, with ES Helena:

is heard as:

In spanish “punto” and “coma” are common ways of pronouncing the decimal point.

Here are other two 4K videos of the three drones with a single MP instance:

With a single instance there is a single voice. Even accelerating it, for this type of missions with waypoints close in space and time (specially for the car circuit in a this video:


with one rover and two drones) messages are delayed and/or lost, so three instances with three voices, which can be simultaneous and different, are preferable.

BTW, at the end of the second video two drones crash. The missions are the same, so starting the drones at different instants should avoid crashes, but things are not ideal This is the crash in detail:

On the lower right part of the tlog part of these single MP instance videos appear the three drones trajectories capture, which however shows one hud and one purple trace. This is nice, but is not possible with three MP instances.

The white lines on those tlog parts were reported here:

Nice. It is working now:

{sysid} SYSID_THISMAV: 3 6 7 mode changes and some 30s interval messages.

However, although there are changes for indicating the possible COM ports, making selection easier, and although I prefer three MP instances, still, for above I can’t make the connection list:

Here is a 4K video with three MP instances using {sysid}:

Three MP instances permit hearing different voices, and distinguish system messages not identifiable with {sysid}.

However:
-It seems that MP reads system voice once. So if you want to fine tune it you have to stop MP and restart.
-As a consequence of that, for capturing the tlog part of above video and change voice, also stopping and restarting MP is needed.
-The small number (3, 6, 7) in the miniature drone is not as clear a the rover SYSID_THISMAV in this video:

{sysid} works beautifully. Example videos at the end of this post.

However, I can’t see the exact use of {compid}. I have placed it at the beginning of the 30s Interval message:
{compid}dice{sysid} a punto {wpn}, altitud {alt}, velocidad en tierra {gsp} batería?{batv} voltios
(recall that ‘?’ is a workaround for voltages being interpreted as dates in Microsoft spanish voices)
and, being {compid} related to the GCS, the only related place I find to change it is:
CONFIG TUNING -> Planner -> GCS ID:


Changing that has no effect: always ‘uno’ (one) is heard. Since I use now ESP8266 devices with drones in a LAN, if I use MP on two laptops now both say the same for {compid}.

In adition, I see that MP seems to read the system voice at start. For changing voices it would be desirable to read it also when:
-connecting to another drone on the same MP instance;
-reading a tlog file (for selecting the voice when capturing it).

Unless I miss something, since system voice seems to be read when MP starts, for changing the voice in those two situations, MP has to be exited and restarted.
