Mode 1 pilot, trouble arming - Throttle/Rudder

I’m a mode 1 pilot and I’ve been having trouble arming.
In mode 1 I have to hold my right stick Throttle down, and left stick rudder to the right.

If I accidentally introduce the slightest bit of Roll on the right stick, it seems I can’t arm it.
Logs show there’s a significant amount of roll being induced, but I’m 100% sure I’m not pulling the stick to the right as I lower the throttle.

Any suggestions to solve this and make more reliable? Or to give me a buffer that tolerates a few PWM pulses either side?

For mode 2 flyers this is easy as just one stick has to be pulled down and right, and hands off the other stick.

I’m using a HereLink controller.

Thanks

Yeah I noticed this when converting my TX for Trappy. You could put arming on a switch - that is the simple way out. We should also check that the deadzone is being applied for arming.

Can it be programmed so that the arming sequence only looks at throttle and yaw and completely ignores the other inputs for the purpose of the arming inputs?

I’ll take a look at the button customisation to test how safe it feels with arming on a button.

IIRC there is an option bit to do that for planes.

PS it is in RC_OPTIONS though I would check the exact behavior.
