looking at a RFD900 if it can also transmit video i see that there is video device option with hud overlay if selected.
what is the point of this it will connect to my camera in my lap top is it possible to connect a camera to the APM? if so how? i cannot find any info or modules that will connect a camera to the APM

RFD900 is not a 3DR product so we don’t know how it operates to transmit video.
If you want to add video with hud overlay to the APM you can add a video system with minimOSD, here is a manual and info that might help you:

I see the usb board has a input for analog video and cannot be transmitted through the 3dr
