I am working on a drone with some friends and we are building our own autopilot. It is my task to search for alternatives for the Ground Control System and compare them against our requirements. I stumbled across Mission Planner, but the description says it is intended for specific systems, namely the APM:Plane, APM:Copter and APM:Rover. But also that it uses MAVLink, which we support with our hardware.
Is is also possible to use Mission Planner for custom hardware/autopilot if it used MAVLink?
Is there any information about how that might work or examples?
