Lead makes for an amazing vibration isolation material. Mercedes used it in some vehicles between the rearview mirror and the chassis to keep it from shaking while driving.

As @Saijin_Naib pointed out, lead is a great vibration insulation material.
It is also about changing the resonant harmonics of the vibration materials used.
There has bee quite a bit of investigation with the Cube in finding harmonics it responds to.
But with the use of different materials that have different harmonic responses, and the lead to also increase the mass, then the vast majority of vibrations can be kept at bay.
So it’s not just the lead, it’s the combination of the ‘O’ ring suspension, the Sorbathane and lead and Gyro tape that has given me the best results.
