I just started playing with my new Pixhawk and after the playing checked the SD card. There was some logfile .bin. Which format is this in and is it possible to create logs in the (somewhat) human readable old dataflash format?

the .bin file format is the raw file and the mission planner can convert it to a traditional .log format. You’ll find the button the MP’s Flight Data, dataflash log tab on the bottom left.
