Short question: Why isn’t LED_MODE available as a parameter when configuring a plane?

Probably because no one has requested it until now. It is basically a multicopter parameter to provide programming control of a visual indication of vehicle operation. Multicopters are generally flown at lower altitudes and closer to the operator.

I feel the need for similar functionality in a plane as the ardupilot and GPS-module are often hidden within the airframe without the ability to view status, for example when powering up the plane and waiting for it to lock the home position, I assume that there are no technical hurdles to have it available in “plane-mode” as well.


Actually, I requested it well over half a year ago and was IIRC referred to the jDIO-board :slight_smile:
