Is this OK to use?

There are wire strands from two of the black cables touching. Is this OK? The red wire has its insulation mostly in place and looks to be free from contact with the black wires.

P.S. I have bought a few more connectors, but am curious whether it is safe to continue using the old one.

For future cables if you are going to have much handling, it would be convenient to add some hot glue.

That’s a great idea! That will prevent the wires’ insulation from rubbing against the metal clips too much?

the hot glue will protect the joint between the wire and metal clip.
