Is an SD card mandatory?

I’ve just realised that the Matek F405-WMN board I’m planning to use in my fixed-wing model doesn’t have an SD card slot. While connected to MP, with LOG_DISARMED set to 1, I’m getting log files but they’re all dated 01-01-1970 00:01.

The spec sheet says the board has Blackbox16M flash. Is Ardupilot using this for logging instead of SD card and, if so, how do I get it to record the correct date and time?

You don’t, unfortunately. It’s a limitation of the file system that is used on the onboard NAND chips. The logs still contain all the data as usual, but the date/timestamps will always show the Unix epoch.

OK thanks. That’s not too bad, for at least they have the DOS (or Windows or whatever-it-is) date and time stamp when I download them to my laptop.
