IrLock in water environment

Hey !
I would like to use an IrLock for precision landing for my copter.
However, this device would be on the deck of a boat and I want to protect the device from water. I thought I’d put it in a waterproof box with glass on top but I saw that only 0,78 - 1,4 µm lights go through glass. I didn’t find in the documentation of the beacons, so I thought I’d ask here if some of you had already protected the beacons.
About the sensor also, do you protect it ? Or do you just clean it after each use ?

Near IR is just above red, it should be within the passband of the glass, you can check using IR TV remote and a camera.
