Initializing gyros takes very long time

Hi,

I’ve noticed that sometimes, the gyro initialization takes very long time to complete. The stage when the lights on the here gps units blink red and blue. Usually it takes just a second, but at two of my boots it has taken longer, like 15-20 sec.

Both times, the copter was standing completely still on the ground and once on my floor indoors. I use a cube orange with two here 3 units. It happened once using the gps cable for power and once using the main battery. Both times I just rebooted and everything was as normal, quick initialization and all.

This time, it forced the second IMU to reset and it spit out some other EKF messages. I know the Cube orange has has issues with the first IMU resetting and now uses the second one, right?

I didn’t have disarmed logging enabled so for now it’s just a guessing game. But I want to know if anyone else has experienced this or if it could be related to the IMU issues the cube orange has faced in the passed.

@tridge, maybe you know something?

Thanks!

A log with LOG_DISARMED=1 might help narrow the issue.

Have you tried recalibrating?
