I am building a boat with Pixhawk and M8N GPS. Can I mount the GPS inside the boat or better outside? Thank you.

Good day l, better keep the gps module outside…, your can build a custom diy canopy and make it waterproof

Depends on the material of the deck of the boat.
I have plastics and have mounted the GPS under deck - no problem at all.
Its like having it above deck.

Can be inside without problems, it depends on the material and coating / paint of the hull

But if it is located too low relative to water surface, the GOS signal can be affected by double reflections and false readings.

Thanks everyone for the support. The boat is made of plastic. I will mount the gps inside a little raised.
