IMU temperature calibration low pass filtering?

I had to run IMU temperature calibration quite a few times due to random disturbances showing up as spikes in the graphs (like someone walking nearby or someone closing a door in the building).

Since the temperature changes very slowly during the calibration process compared to events like footsteps or closing a door, would it make sense to low-pass filter the IMU values for the purpose of the calibration?

Is the reason for not having it done just that nobody has really needed it before or is there some reason why it would be a bad idea?
