Import KML polygon as MP polygon for auto waypoint

I am aware that you can overlay a KML polygon in mission planner but it’s just a "dumb"line on the map.

To use the auto-grid tool you need a mission planner polygon.

I am aware you are able to import .poly files but I am unaware of a way to convert a KML to .poly

Is there any way to be able to import a KML polygon and then use that directly for planning a waypoint mission? At the moment I am having to import the KML, draw a polygon over it which is tedious and inaccurate.

Poly file is a simple list of coordinate pairs, one pair per line, separated by space.
Convert your kml to csv (lots of services and programs are available for that). Then change separator from comma to space.
and import it as a poly file
