How to define the main output pin like Pixhawk

I’m working on “Porting to a new flight controller board”,I don’t know how to define the main output pin like Pixhawk.I looked at someone else’s hwdef.data file, almost always only auxout pins are defined.If I do not define mainout pins, in the instructions on the following page, how to connect the motor and Wheel Encoders?
