How to deactivate fixed wing conventional control surfaces while in VTOL Mode?

Hello, I am configuring a fixed-wing VTOL tilt-motor and notice that the conventional fixed wing control surfaces are also active while in VTOL flight modes. This creates instability in all conditions where the aircraft is not in headwind while in VTOL mode since the controls will be reversed, and hence I would like to deactivate the control surfaces while in all VTOL modes. I would like them to activate during transitions (Q_Assist) and Forward Flight modes.

Could somebody please instruct me on how I can achieve this? Thanks!

Then your configuration is certainly not correct. So instead of wanting to deactivate something, you should rather look at where your error is …

Hi Reinhard, the configuration is certainly correct.

This is the effect I am referring to, and hence want to deactivate the conventional control surfaces while in VTOL mode.

Samarth:

If the AIL, ELE and RUD are on separate radio channels, you may try setting a channel override in your control radio.

Takeoff in QHOVER (? - it’s been a couple of years since I tried VTOL planes) and have the channel overrides set to 1500 - neutral for AIL, ELE and RUD and active when the flight switch is QHOVER.

When you start the transition, set the overrides to turn OFF when you select FBWA/B and your aerodynamic control surfaces will be active again.
