How do I plan a mission that crosses the international date line?

Realy all in the title here folks!

How do I plan a mission that crosses the international date line?

  1. First off what will happen to the ardupilot when it is told to cross the international date line?
Will it stop and explode error?

  2. How do you create such a mission; as mission planner definitely does not want you to create a mission like this?

Thanks in Advance!

1: The autopilot starts off counting micro/milliseconds - it does offset it’s counter to GPS, and log GPS time, but does not re-adjust it with GPS or does math based on GPS time, so I don’t see how it could be affected by that.

2: you create the mission with any decent, multi-platform tool; APMPlanner2, QGroundControl, mavproxy. Mission does not have any reference to time/date and don’t care for that.

I see!

My main problem: I was using just the basic Planner software, with an upgrade to QGroundcontrol I am off and running again…

I guess I will have to simulate crossing the date line in software and hope the pixhawk keeps going in the right direction

Thanks!

yes, it would ba a god idea to run it in SITL, I don’t see how direction would be a problem
