Hey all, currently I have a stock holybro x500 V2 from the kit. I am hoping to be able to mount 2-3 Lidar cams, a visual camera, their respective 3D printed mounts, and be able to lift the weight of about 1.5 extra batteries, not on top of the stock 3 cell one with the kit.
Currently, just lifting the extra 1.5 batteries barely got the stock quadcopter off of the ground, and we still need to add the extra parts.
Would you know of any upgrades that could possibly get the job done whether that by some longer arms with a motor with a better T/W ratio and larger blades? (it can even include upgrading the 3S battery to 4S). I’ve heard of a ‘Sunnysky V4006-740’ in another post.
We use Skystar Talon ESCs and Rotorgeeks house brand 2812 900kv motor. Still with the 10" props. 4S 5200mah battery. I haven’t bothered to run the numbers on the kit but it works well. No shortage of power (within reason) for various bits that have been piled on.
If you’re still around Allister, I’d also like to order a frame to fit different motors. How did you install motors with 19mm x 19mm mounting centres? When the standard plate is apparently 16mm x 16mm. Thanks. Cheers Ron.
Thanks Allister. Holybro technical indicated 14 to 16mm!. So unless the dimensions have been changed their advice was a bit out! Just managed to measure the slot distances from a video, which certainly looks like 16 to 19mm. Cheers Ron.
