Help with motors

Hi all

I’m building a skid rover and finally works, but testing the function I saw problems with motors

I’m using a piborg monster 12v 300rpm

https://www.piborg.org/motors-mounts-and-wheels-1140/12v-300-rpm-monsterborg-motor-p37uk12

But when The rover is on the carpet or a grass it seems the motors has not enough power to move the rover.

I was reviewing the curve from motor controller and is fully linear.

Any suggestion to buy the motors? The rover is aprox 10kg weight

Thanks all

Eduard

hello,

Check some calculator online like : https://www.robotshop.com/community/blog/show/drive-motor-sizing-tool

thank you very much @khancyr

You will need a lot more torque than 1 kg-cm per motor for a 10kg skid steer rover. As you have discovered skid steer requires more torque than a typical ackerman steer vehicle due to wheel skid in turns. Something like this if ~300 RPM is the speed range you need.
