Help debugging the crash of my first VTOL

I’ve been a long-time user of ArduPlane and Copter, and thought that I’d try a tailsitter as an experimental project. It wasn’t my finest hour, but I have now realised that I don’t know how to review the logs of a QuadPlane to evaluate what went wrong. I took off in QLoiter, it seemed to drop the nose and shoot off to the right.

It may well be that I have the weight too nose heavy, and the slight nose drop became unrecoverable, but I don’t know how to tell if this was the root cause, or something else. A couple of crashes for reference

Can anyone suggest how to investigate?

Hi Matt,

You should first check in QSTABILIZE if the tailsitter hovers properly, then check with QHover if the height is maintained. Flying away to the side can have many causes, to find out the cause(s) a logfile is helpful.
