Gripper Problems

I have Pixhawk 2.4.8 with APM copter v3.4.6 and I am trying to use the gripper.

Docs say to set GRIP_ENABLE TO 1 to load the parameters to set it up.

There is no GRIP_ENABLE parameter.

I just want to set my copter up to maually or in auto mode activate a servo to
drop a payload. There are several versions of how to do this in the documentation
and none of them work.

So has anyone succeeded in making this work and how?

It is new for 3.5.

Yes, it does work.

I suggest you update to 3.5.1 as a first step.

I see griipper is in 3.5, but it shows up in 3.4.6 without the other parameters.
Perhaps when I reinstalled 3.4.6 after having 3.5, It did not do a clean install of 3.5.

I tried version 3.5, but I could not get it work with my sonar, so I went back to 3.4.6 which does work.

I was finally able to use the camera shutter to drop a payload in 3.4.6. So now I have all the functionality I wanted with my sonar and payload dropping capability.

I hesitate in going to 3.5 since I couldn’t get my sonar to work in it.

I tried the DO_SET_SERVO again and it worked this time. Not sure why it
didn’t work before. However I tried to use channel 7 to manually activate the gripper
but could not get that to work.
