GPS loss during flight and regain few seconds later

@Allister @tridge
If the GPS status/satellite info is lost during the flight and it regains status after a few seconds with the announcement “GPS home acquired”, does this mean my home was aquired in the Air (X, Y, Z-coordinates)?

It happened to me on the Pixhawk Cube black with 1st generation Here GPS.

That’s a good question. Here’s my take:

According to the wiki, you should be okay.

For Plane the home position is initially established at the time the plane acquires its GPS lock. It is then continuously updated as long as the autopilot is disarmed.

Home is set once you’re armed. So as long as your arming status didn’t change then the home point should remain the same.

But I’d also like to have this confirmed by someone who knows the code behind the logic.

Edit: Just thinking out loud, but it is a great use case to set up a Rally Point. Then the homeport is less important.

@Allister is right, it would only change home if you were disarmed
