Great work by the way. I definitely understand that this particular feature is different to most in that testing is high risk - and from that perspective I understand the basis for this request.
We’ll see if one of the Partners would like to support this, as a first step.

I’d certainly support this request, it is a high risk test to be doing, and Matts existing vehicle is a bit small for proper testing of auto-rotation

I’m a bit slow on updating this post, but the request by @IAMMATT was approved, and supplemented by @cczeets (Steve) from TerraPlane (http://terraplanellc.com/), an ArduPilot Partner, to upsize the heli.
Keep on with the great work Matt, and thanks @cczeets for your continuing support of ArduPilot development.
