Freespace Drones at Barcelona Drone WC

Here’s a video of the Freespace drone team’s drones at the Barcelona Drone world cup about a month ago… and for those who understand Spanish here’s another video including interviews with the Freespace drone team.

For those not familiar with Freespace drone, they produce huge powerful racing drones and the team includes Leonard Hall who designed most of Copter’s attitude and navigation controls. The drones are using ArduPilot of course because its attitude controllers can be run at a very high rate (like on smaller racing drones) but also it has the safety features (transmitter and battery failsafes, Return-To-Launch flight mode, real-time EKF health and vibration monitoring, etc) required on these large machines.

Nicely done Leonard and team!
