Follow flight mode change altitude

According to the docs it should be possible to change the altitude with the throttle stick when in follow flight mode.

Unfortunately this does not work with my setup.

My setup:

flying copter with Arducopter 4.1.5
copter on the ground (mounted on a vehicle) with Arducopter 4.2.1

Would it be better to have a rover on the ground?

Hey did you find a way to do this ? I am trying lua script but nothing seems to work yet
