I wasn’t able to flash firmware updates to a Pixhawk (1 or 2.1) from MP running in a VMware virtual machine on a Mac. It would just hang every time. I discovered that setting the virtual machine to emulate USB 2.0 instead of the default 3.0 fixes this - it works reliably now.
