Firmware upgrade problem - Error: firmware image is too large for this board

Hello,
I’ve tried to upgrade firmware from 4.03 to 4.07 (Drotek pixhawk 3 pro) but I’m getting the following message:
Error: firmware image is too large for this board

I uploaded a small size firmware of the Antennatracker but now no other firmware can be uploaded.

Please help.
Thank you
Rotem

this could be a bug in our bootlooder. I could give you a test firmware with an updated bootloader that may fix the issue. Then you could update the bootloader from that image. Would you like to try that?

Hello tridge,
Yes please, I’ll try.

Thank you very much
Rotem

Download and install this copter firmware:
http://uav.tridgell.net/DrotekP3Pro/copter-DrotekP3Pro-small.apj
that is a feature-reduced version of copter that fits in 1M of flash.
then follow this guide to update the bootloader:
https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-bootloader-update.html
after you have done that you should be able to load normal firmware for this board.
Please let me know how it goes

Hello tridge,
I’ve installed the feature reduced firmware but it refused to update the bootloader with mission planner and Qground control.

Thank you
Rotem
See attached images.

thanks for testing, I think I’ve found the cause, can you try again with this firmware?
