ELRS Rx Update Assistance

Thanks for the help. New to elrs (usually use TBS CRSF) and I want to update the receiver, but i’m at a loss. I assume I need to pass-thru from serial 0 to serial 2(UART where the receiver is) but its still not connecting. Im sure I am missing something simple, but Im tired of banging my head on the desk so I am phoning a friend.

Thanks

Many of them have built in WiFi capability that can be used for updates. What make/model? What does a search of that make/model tell you at this site?

Radiomaster DBR4 receiver and it says nothing about wifi update, nor can I see a wifi network when I power the receiver or any options when I access it via the radios LUA.

Thanks

I’d be shocked if that one doesn’t have WiFi capability. Apply power. Wait about one minute. Does the led flash rate become rapid? When that happens, can you find a WiFi AP named ExpressLRS?

and this is why i love this place. All updated and time to play with MAVLINK. Apologies for my ignorance with ELRS…

To be fair, nothing in Radiomaster’s own docs indicate that a WiFi connection is possible, but it’s a fairly standard feature of ExpressLRS hardware.

That part is tricky. The Receiver must use CRSF protocol because the reboot to bootloader command is a CRSF command. If mavlink is selected, you will never flash the receiver this way.

Connect from PC to FC at 460kBaud, this is important.
Backup your configuration via the full parameter page.
Free the receivers serial port for passthru to use. Select function “NONE” and baudrate “460” for that serial. Save parameters.
Then go to the passthru parameters, set the 2nd serial to the receivers serial and increase the time to 30s for convenience. Save parameters.
At that point you got 30s for ELRS Configurator to connect through passthrough. Select your target and use betaflight passthrough. It will assume that passthrough is already done and flash your receiver.
Afterwards power cycle the FC, connect and restore your settings.
