DroneePlotter – An Elite Drone Flight Log Analysis Tool

There’s no doubting that drones have revolutionized the way in which people carry out surveying work. Whether the users are operating in agriculture, construction, or any other industry which requires such work, drones have made surveying easier, safer and faster than ever before.

When using these high-tech unmanned aircraft, users can also get unparalleled amounts of data about how their drones are performing, via flight log analysis. Today, we want to talk to you about a new and exciting entry into this particular field – DroneePlotter.

What is DroneePlotter?

In short, DroneePlotter is a browser-based log analyzer tool. You upload your drone’s flight log to the website, and DroneePlotter allows you to both analyze and share your data, all within the browser.

Dronee – the company who created it – have a great deal of experience with drones. Not only do they manufacture their own drones, like the DroneePLANE; they also create software to help make drone users’ lives easier.

What are the Key Features?

So, what makes DroneePlotter special?

Well, how long have you got?!

Here are just a few of DroneePlotter’s best features:

  • It’s browser-based, meaning you don’t have to navigate any complicated servers to use it
  • It works very quickly. It uses Javascript to instantly parse the log file within the browser, providing you with the data you need in no time at all
  • It’s incredibly easy to use. Literally all you have to do is drag and drop a log file onto the site, and the tool will take care of the rest. Once the analysis has been generated, you can navigate between the different data sets and metrics effortlessly
  • It takes care of the hard part for you, automatically generating flight graphs which you can subsequently analyze in a wide variety of different ways
  • It’s social. Once you’ve finished your flight log analysis, you can upload the file, and immediately share it with other people on blogs, forums, social media, or wherever else you might like.

How Much Does it Cost?

This might be the best part of all.

We’re sure you’ll agree that DroneePlotter offers a pretty wide-ranging and powerful feature set. Well, the cost for all of that is… nothing at all! That’s right, DroneePlotter is completely free to use.

If you’ve already gone to the expense of buying a top-of-the-line drone, then getting a flight log analysis tool as powerful as this – for free – is an absolute god-send.

Any plans to release the source code, so the community can improve and extend it?

Hello,

I think that with https://plot.ly/ and mavexplorer, with a nice theme of bootstrap you should get pretty close !

I do wish that the map and the charts could be visible at the same time for reference. I also have had some massive logs that have caused my computer to run out of memory. Maybe you could build a decimating tool of some sort?

Otherwise I love this tool and have been recommending it to others!

Thanks for the feedback Nathan, we will consider your feedbacks and will try to imolement in Dronee Plotter

please visualize mode (color of track) and RC inputs (draw RC-sticks based on channels assigned)

I sent a question to the dev a week or so ago and got no reply. It wasn’t about not finding the site just a simple question.

Looks like the site is down. Been trying each day for the past week.

I’m not sure what’s going on with plot.dron.ee - but whilst they’re having issues you could always give https://plot.ardupilot.org/ a go
