Does it make sense to do telemetry with an XBEE zigbee mesh set

I am working on a project where we would like to send telemetry data from a drone device to a computer. Currently I have a Digi xbee 3 ZigBee mesh kit that I would like to use but I am not sure if it is possible and if it is does it make sense to use them or would you use a different method to send telemetry data
