Cruise airspeed or throttle has priority?

Does cruise airspeed or cruise throttle have priority.

Will the APM rigidly stick to the cruise airspeed irrespective of what cruise throttle setting you have or the other way round, or is it a mixture of both?

As I understand it, if you have an airspeed sensor, the system will use the cruise airspeed rather than the throttle percentage setting to control the aircraft speed. The throttle percentage is only for aircraft with no airspeed sensor. Airspeed is a much better way of controlling the aircraft.

You can set a max throttle % if you find that it’s pushing too hard to hit the airspeed.

TRIM_ARSPD_CM is not used in CRUISE or FBWB modes. It works like this:
Take the % input of your throttle from your transmitter i.e. 80% throttle and calulate that percentage difference between ARSPD_FBW_MAX and ARSPD_FBW_MIN. So in the case ARSPD_FBW_MAX is 30 and ARSPD_FBW_MIN is 12 so the difference is 18. 80% of 18 is - 14.4. We now add that to ARSPD_FBW_MIN so your target airspeed is 26.4.
Hope that helps.
