Control mavlink Gimbal from MP

Hello everyone.
I am new to mavlink.
I am currently converting a gimbal to communicate with mavlink.

I configured the pilot that a SToRM32 MAVLink gimbal is connected. (the only MAVLink gimbal on the dropdown list).

It seems that when this gimbal is selected, the pilot is sending messages using the “gimbal V1 protocol”.

I receive " MAV_CMD_DO_MOUNT_CONTROL" message.

Here is the question:
How do I get the pilot to send me " MAV_CMD_DO_MOUNT_CONFIGURE" message?
I am trying to configure the system in a way that buttons on the joystick will change the MOUNT_CONFIGURE.

I was not able to find a way to do that.

Thanks!

Here are the docs you seek: https://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/code-overview-adding-support-for-a-new-mavlink-gimbal.html

Thanks for the fast replay.

I actually read this page already.
The "Set-up through the Mission Planner (MALVink protocol)” link is a dead end.

So I still don’t have an explanation on how to command a gimbal from Mission Planner.

try configuring it via mavproxy:

  • module load gimbal
  • gimbal point 0 0 0
